# Savory > Savory is a native macOS and iPhone app that records meetings, transcribes them entirely on your Mac with on-device Whisper models, and organizes every note around the people in the room. Audio stays in memory and is never written to disk. Free in early access; macOS 26+ and iPhone on iOS 26+. Savory captures meetings without a bot joining the call: on macOS it records system audio locally and separates speakers, and transcription runs on device with Whisper models that live on your Mac. Notes are organized around people rather than a flat chronological pile, so each person carries their own history, cadence, and a two-way ledger of commitments. AI summaries and action items are optional and run only when you ask, with identifiers scrubbed before anything leaves the device. The app is free forever for on-device capture, people pages, calendar, and search; a Pro tier adds the AI summaries and action items. There are no analytics, cookies, or trackers on this website. ## Features - [All features](https://savory.ai/features): The whole architecture on one page, all local-first. - [On-device transcription](https://savory.ai/features/on-device-transcription): Whisper models that live on your Mac, three tiers from 150 MB to 3.1 GB, offline-friendly, audio never saved. - [People](https://savory.ai/features/people): One page per person with history, cadence, last met, and a two-way ledger of what is owed each way. - [Summaries](https://savory.ai/features/summaries): Key topics, decisions, and owned action items, generated with OpenAI or Gemini only when you ask, identifiers scrubbed first. - [Live recording](https://savory.ai/features/live-recording): Record both sides of a call on macOS with no bot joining, a floating recorder, menu-bar quick record, echo cancellation, and speaker separation. - [Calendar](https://savory.ai/features/calendar): Google and Apple calendars read into one Day, Week, and Month view with a color per calendar, and one-click recording of any event. - [Search](https://savory.ai/features/search): Full-text search across transcripts, summaries, titles, and attendees, one keystroke away in the command palette. ## Modes - [Modes overview](https://savory.ai/modes): Meetings, Student, and Notes in one app; enable one, several, or all, and each keeps its own space. - [Meetings mode](https://savory.ai/modes/meetings): The core loop, record on device, transcribe locally, summarize on demand, organized around people. - [Student mode](https://savory.ai/modes/student): Coursework by term and course with on-device lecture capture, fully separate from work. - [Notes mode](https://savory.ai/modes/notes): A focused WYSIWYG Markdown notebook with checklists, note-to-note links, an iPhone share extension, and Markdown export. ## Compare - [Compare overview](https://savory.ai/compare): An honest capability table against Granola, Fireflies, and Otter. - [Savory vs Granola](https://savory.ai/compare/savory-vs-granola): On-device transcription and people-centric organization versus cloud transcription organized by meeting. - [Savory vs Fireflies](https://savory.ai/compare/savory-vs-fireflies): Local capture with no bot versus a meeting bot that processes audio in the cloud. - [Savory vs Otter](https://savory.ai/compare/savory-vs-otter): On-device notes organized by person versus cloud transcription and collaboration. ## Privacy - [Security and privacy](https://savory.ai/privacy): The architecture, audio in memory only, on-device transcription, scrubbed opt-in summaries, local voiceprints, and biometric-gated deletion. - [Privacy policy](https://savory.ai/legal/privacy-policy): What the app processes on your device, the single opt-in network step for summaries, and what this website collects, which is nothing. ## Pricing - [Pricing](https://savory.ai/pricing): Free forever for on-device capture, people, calendar, and search; Pro adds AI summaries and action items with a 30-day free trial. ## Blog - [Blog](https://savory.ai/blog): Notes on on-device AI, calm software, and honest engineering. - [Your meeting transcripts shouldn't need a server](https://savory.ai/blog/on-device-transcription): The architecture case for on-device transcription and what Apple silicon changed. - [People, not piles](https://savory.ai/blog/people-not-piles): Why meeting knowledge should orbit humans rather than a chronological archive. - [No bot in the room](https://savory.ai/blog/no-bot-in-the-room): How system-audio capture records both sides of a call with nothing joining the meeting. ## Optional - [Download](https://savory.ai/download): Get Savory for macOS 26+ and iPhone on iOS 26+, free in early access, no card required. - [About](https://savory.ai/about): Who builds Savory and the beliefs behind it. - [Contact](https://savory.ai/contact): Reach the people building Savory. - [FAQ](https://savory.ai/faq): Direct answers on privacy, recording, summaries, and platforms. - [Changelog](https://savory.ai/changelog): Early-access releases described plainly. - [Terms of use](https://savory.ai/legal/terms): The terms for the Savory apps and website during early access. - [Sitemap](https://savory.ai/sitemap): Every page on the site in one place, grouped by section.
